I’ve had a lot of alone time over the last few weeks. The hermit in me has soaked up the opportunity to reflect deeply on life, dreams, and direction. Mainly pondering the question, “what do I really want?”
Do you ask yourself that? When was the last time you got quiet and I mean REALLY quiet and listened to the whisper in your soul?
As I listened clarity began to form. It’s so easy to get distracted in life. So many outlets grabbing our attention. I’ve struggled to stay focused on what’s truly for me vs. what looks appetizing in the moment.
So how do we get quiet? How do we begin to listen to the whispers?
For me, meditation is one of the greatest tools for reflection. Talking time daily to train my mind to stop babbling and focus on my breath.
Highly recommend it even if you start with only 3 mins. Set a timer, sit quietly, eyes closed, and just focus on your inhale and exhale. Train your mind and change your life.
One thing that came out of my solitude the last few weeks was clarity on the “big picture” goal. I LOVE podcasting and writing, two things that have taken a back seat while I build my coaching practice. Isn’t it tragic how the things we enjoy most often get neglected when life becomes noisy?
Well, I’ve decided to remedy that, starting with changing my podcast hosting to Substack so I can incorporate blogs/newsletters/chats and build COMMUNITY (my favorite thing).
What’s something you have pushed to the back burner lately that you miss? That thing that lights you up? Maybe it’s time to reignite that hobby, side hustle, relationship, etc.
