Lill’ Bits:
When you are in a slump… pour into your people.
Purpose + Meaning are essential for your mental health.
I spent this weekend helping one of my closest friends move their life across the country.
We packed up a U-Haul and drove 18 hours over the weekend.
I’m exhausted and my heart is full.
It wasn’t how I intended to spend my weekend, yet it was exactly what I needed to get out of my slump.
When we get overly self-focused we can hyperfixate on problems in our life.
Sometimes those problems are real and need to be addressed.
Other times we may just need a perspective shift to help us zoom out and realize we are creating the problems in our heads.
We are pack animals - wired for connection.
Part of being a pack animal is supporting the people around you.
If you are in a slump, look for someone in your life to pour into.
Maybe that’s being a listening ear or a sounding board for them.
Or maybe that’s helping them move.
When we get outside ourselves we begin to experience purpose and meaning.
