Lill’ Bits:
Rigidity thwarts intimacy in long-term relationships.
A long-term (enjoyable) partnership with another person requires us to hold another’s needs and wants in the same regard we hold our own.
Not placing them above us and neglecting our desires.
Not placing them below us and ignoring theirs.
Walking side by side, open to hearing and seeking to understand their perspective.
When we are rigid we are closed.
When we are rigid there is no space for another perspective.
Ask yourself where in my relationship am I white knuckling my way of doing things?
What do I need to do to release my grasp?
Holding anything too tightly suffocates it.
Intimacy flourishes in flexibility.
Weekend Gratitude
I enjoyed a delicious matcha at a new spot in our neighborhood.
It’s the little things for me.
I encourage you to take a few moments to reflect on what little things brightened your weekend.
